The Big Bark – please help us rebuild our kennels

Every day at Animals in Distress we see the wonderful love that the dogs give to their new families, often despite having had traumatic pasts. We hear many stories of how they have changed and sometimes even saved lives – dogs like Diesel, the heroic Staffy who was abandoned tied to a tree and who went on to save his new family’s lives during a terrible house fire. Dogs like PD Peppa, who was found straying and now saves lives with the Devon and Cornwall Police, and Daisy who found herself in rescue in her old age and went on to change Mal’s life by becoming her wonderful life companion.

A dog’s love is special, and always, always unconditional. Dogs make us feel better, they protect us, they know when we are ill, they provide companionship when we feel lonely – they are loyal to the end.  Dogs are amazing!

Dogs give us the best of themselves and in return, we want to thank the dogs in our care to realise their full potential by providing them with the best possible care and facilities until they find their forever home.  It is the least they deserve.

Kennels

To do this we need to build new kennels.

Our existing kennels are old and no longer fit for purpose. They are clean but very difficult and expensive to keep warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

We want to give the dogs in our care spacious and comfortable kennels with underfloor heating and an air cooling system. Beautiful kennels, looking out over a garden area, with quiet spaces for the more nervous dogs as well as a training room and a living room where dogs can become accustomed to household noises and experience the love of a sofa.

We need your help.

We need to raise over £1million to make this dream a reality and we will not be able to do it without the support of our wonderful friends.

Please do something remarkable and pledge your support today!  There are lots of ways that you can help us to build a new home for the dogs in our care.
