Over 70 dogs and their owners got very muddy on the morning of Sunday 18th February 2018, on our very first Muddy Mutts Sponsored Dog Walk.
Muddy Mutts – the West Country’s only muddy dog challenge – took place in the beautiful setting of the River Dart Country Park in Ashburton. Everyone who took part completed the fun 3km challenge, which consisted of dog-friendly obstacles such as jumps, tunnels, weaves and temptation alley games, commando crawling, a water-dip and plenty of mud! Dog-washing facilities were available at the end of the course!
Everyone had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We estimate that we have raised in excess of £4000. We have been amazed by the response, and would like to thank everyone who took part, and their sponsors. A special thank you to our wonderful volunteers, and to River Dart Country Park for hosting this special event. We are already looking forward to next year’s event.
All the proceeds from Muddy Mutts will go to help the homeless dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs at the Animals in Distress rescue centre in Ipplepen.
