Schools

Our friendly Fundraising Team are available to deliver talks on what Animals in Distress does, it’s history and pet care. We can deliver information on career choices that animal welfare offers as well as how to care for your pet for the little ones. We have experience of delivering talks and interactive classroom sessions to all age groups from nursery right up to sixth formers and college students.

We can tailor our talks to any type of audience depending on what your requirements are. If appropriate we can bring information about the Charity appropriate for the audience we are talking to.

Also, when available, we can bring a dog with us to say hello and for students to interact with.

We like to ask schools and students if they would consider doing some fundraising to help our animals by perhaps doing a mufti day, a cake sale or adopting Animals in Distress as their charity of the year.

To book your talk call 01803 812121 (ask for Fundraising) or drop us a line at supportus@animalsindistress.uk.com

Torbay and Devon Civic Award

We can also help year 6 pupils already doing their Civic Award and year 5 students looking to do it.

One of the 5 areas requires a pupil to demonstrate “Active Citizenship in their home communities”. To meet this requirement pupils can choose to do some fundraising for a local charity of their choice. Since Animals in Distress is based solely within the Torbay and South Devon area we certainly do qualify as local!

We can support with setting up a fundraising event, giving ideas and of course the all-important letter and certificate at the end proving that you have helped the animals in our care!
