charity will writing

Will Writing Week is 24th – 28th April this year, and we are delighted to have teamed up with Will Writers Simon Hall and Tracey Wright to offer our supporters the opportunity to make a Will in return for a donation to the Rescue Centre.

Appointments will be available in Plymouth and at our Rescue Centre in Ipplepen, and home and office visit appointments can also be made.

The suggested donation is £100 for a standard single Will or £150 for a pair of mirror Wills, which are ideal for couples.

  • Simon Hall from Will Writing & Estate Planning Services Exeter will be offering home visits within all TQ postcodes areas as well as West of Exeter including Exmouth and Seaton. Also at the Animals in Distress Rescue Centre, Biltor, Edgelands Lane, Ipplepen, Newton Abbot TQ12 5UF. Contact him on 01392 540996 or visit simonhall.info to book.
  • Tracey Wright from Wollcombe Yonge Solicitors is offering appointments from their offices at 63-65 Breton Side, Plymouth, PL4 OBD. Contact her on 01752 660384 to book your appointment.

If you’d like to take part you are advised to book as soon as possible as appointments are limited and expected to fill up fast.  Donations can be paid at the time of the appointment.  More complex Wills and other services may incur a charge, this can be discussed when making your appointment.

We are very grateful to the wonderful Will Writers who are offering their services to support our Will Writing Week this year. We are delighted that this year we have been able to make it even easier for people to make their Wills with appointments available across South Devon, including home and office visits if required – so there really has never been a better time to do it!

The donations received will make a significant difference to the animals in our care and we are very grateful to everyone who takes part.

Simon Hall of Will Writing & Estate Planning Services Exeter said:  “A staggering 54% of adults in the UK do not have a Will and more surprisingly 59% of adults with children have not formalised their wishes in the form of a Will, should the worst happen.  For many it is one of those “tomorrow jobs”, however, I cannot stress enough the importance of having a Will and the Animals in Distress Will Writing Week provides the perfect opportunity.”

Tracey Wright of Wollcombe Yonge Solicitors added “We are passionate about helping local charities, and encouraging people to get a Will in place.”

Pet Guardian Scheme

When considering your Will, it’s also a good time to put in place any arrangements for your beloved pets. The Pet Guardian Scheme is a completely free service provided by Animals in Distress. It aims to give you peace of mind that, in the event of your death, we will take your pet(s) in, care for them and find them a loving home.

It’s very easy to register with the scheme and ensure that your pet, whether it is a dog, cat, rabbit or guinea pig, is cared for when you are no longer around to do so.
